Ancient House Museum trip

Our Roman day  at  the Ancient House

Museum, Thetford

On Wednesday 28th January 2015 years 3,4,5 and 6 from Morley school went on a trip to the Ancient House to learn about the Romans and the Iceni. It was amazing

This is Roman soldier Lucius
Can you see the knobbly thing on the shield? Its a boss.

This is an Iceni warrior, Karaticus.  He taught us that the blue paint on his face was drawn with wode.  The Iceni warriors did this so that the Gods knew that they were Iceni so if they died they were taken to heaven.

This is Julia. She showed us how to make Roman sweets. The Romans used honey instead of sugar to make things taste sweet.

Julia's Mum, a Roman lady, showed us some real as well as some replica Roman artefacts.

This is Boudica. She told us which food was brought to Britain by the Romans, one thing they brought was rabbits.
